Magic Bus" is a song written by Pete Townshend during the time that My Generation was being recorded in 1965. However, it was not recorded by the Who until 1968 and released in the UK on 18 September 1968. It has become one of the band's most popular songs and has been a concert staple, although when released, the record only reached number 26 in the United Kingdom and number 25 in the United States.
Magic Bus' debut album is an absolutely delightful excursion into mildly hippie prog. I had to track this one down after really enjoying their sophomore release "Transmission From Sogmore's Garden" and while I feel this is a step down from that one I still highly recommend this their self-titled debut. Love the cover art on this album by the way. Like the second album I thought of Canterbury with that distorted organ along with GONG and VIOLETA DE OUTONO.
Magic Bus" by The Who is a cover of Pudding's "Magic Bus". Listen to both songs on WhoSampled, the ultimate database of sampled music, cover songs and remixes. Although written by Townshend, this version was released by Pudding a full year before.

Sell Me A Coat was recorded 8 December 1966 for David’s first solo album David Bowie. It’s one of his catchiest early compositions, with a nursery-rhyme chorus. Like many of his earlier songs, this one was offered to several artist, but was rejected by all. It was intentionally written and produced to be a single, but David later changed his mind and decided to put it on the album without releasing it beforehand. It describes a winter’s day. The grim weather suits David’s mood since his girlfriend broke up with him. "Sell Me a Coat" Track Info. Written By David Bowie
